Good morning/afternoon, ladies and gentlemen: The Restriction to Creativity Is My Top Concern Have you ever wondered how many plastic bags our nation uses a day? Would you believe it if I said that total could fill an entire three-story building? Yes, sadly that’s right.In China, more than 20 billion plastic bags are consumed everyday, making our country’s plastic pollution unbearable.Nowadays, plastics have been considered as the worst invention the 20th century while back in the 1890s it was regarded as a groundbreaking creation.From the case of plastic bags, we can see that creativity should be guided, cultivated and well adapted.From steam engines to space ships, from abacus to computers, each major invention brought human beings into a new era, providing us with comforts and fortune.But when pulled away from the spotlight, we can realize that creativity has also brought us into the shadows of environmental pollution, nuclear wars, and unethical scientific experiments.Shouldn’t industrial creativity be restricted to save the Amazon forests? Shouldn’t military creativity be constrained to avoid nuclear Genocide? And would it be better if scientific creativity were supervised to save us the trouble figuring out whether a cloned human should call its genetic provider daddy or what? In the mean time, the power to dream also has a major impact on social ethos.There’s no denying that anti-racism, human rights and what gave me the chance to stand here today—women’s liberation have engaged us into a more civilized world.However, that does not mean social ideas do not have the power to produce alarming effects.During the WWII racial ideology resulted in the massacre of 6 million Jews and in China, our population policies before the 1980s gave us more than 500 million people in just 30 years, putting heavy burden on both the environment and economy.From all these examples above, we can conclude that what creativity can offer us should be a concern.So, today when everyone is stressing the importance of bringing creativity into our lives, I stress on putting restriction on creativity.Because with no restriction, there’s no order!Therefore, ladies and gentlemen, let us have a little restriction to creativity and it will benefit us and the generations to come!

“外研社杯”全国大学生英语演讲比赛是一项极具影响力的赛事。近几年，随着中国大学生对英语学习的兴趣不断提高和高水平选手的纷纷涌现，公众对此项赛事的关注度也越来越高。如何在这样一场聚集了众多英语演讲好手的比赛中脱颖而出呢？深厚的英文功底，熟练地演讲技巧，准确的说，是英文演讲技巧，敏捷的临场反应等等这些都是不可或缺的因素。古人有云：不打无准备之仗。充分精细的赛前准备是成功的一半。以上所提到的演讲中必备的因素都是可以通过长期而富有针对性的培训而获取的，所以从这一方面来讲，此次培训的重要性也就不言而喻了。

对于一名准备参加全国高水平演讲比赛的学生来说，不论前期你的演讲技巧是否熟练，心理素质是否过硬，但自身的英语水平必须过硬。因为知识，尤其是语言的积累不是一朝一夕的事情，它是长期努力的表现结果。当然也绝不能因为自身英语水平还不错就有所懈怠。要知道山外有山，楼外有楼。一切的准备都会在比赛中发挥出它应有的作用。

一、初步阶段，可以进行以下的几项环节

1.朗诵、背诵美文

朗诵和背诵美文的过程即是在帮助选手增强语感，调整思维。大声的朗诵出来并进录音，纠音是一种直接且有效的认清和改进自己不足的方法。反复几次可以达到自我改正的效果。单单朗诵文章还是远远不够的，要想让那些令人为之“倾心震撼”的好词好句变成自己的，就要牢固的将它们输入进大脑中。背诵的过程不断地刺激你的大脑皮层，使你对整篇文章的结构和脉络会有全新的认识，对一些固定搭配，语法的使用形成条件反射。

这里需要强调的是，选文的范围不需要很杂，挑选一本适合自己的书籍进行朗读背诵才可事半功倍。若一味的只是注重量大而忽略对知识掌握程度的正确估计，只会得不偿失。

2.对经典的演讲进行模仿

接下来，可以对经典的演讲录音进行语音语调上的模仿。学习起伏强弱，语速上的把控等。在正确的发音基础上，形成颇令人信服的演讲发声方式，有助于演讲内容的丰满。

3.试写评论性文章

写下对自己的所朗诵或背诵的文章的感想，从不同角度锻炼自己对待事物的不同看法，或赞同或有疑义，总之言之有理即可。懂得发出自己的声音，锻炼自己的思维，为接下来的培训做准备。毕竟，最终的演讲稿完全是你自己的所思所想，是否言之有物不空洞，是裁定演讲稿优秀与否的关键。

文章不是随便写写的，一定要进行修改，否则文章中所藏匿的错误永远在那。用词是否精准，句式是否合乎语法，文章是否扣题，脉络是否清晰。这些都需要老师和同学的帮助了。

二、培训中期，需要多人合作进行

1.进行定时演讲

演讲之所以称之为演讲，是因为它需要向他人传达信息，这其中存在着微妙的互动关系。演讲从来都不是自说自话的单人表演，它需要眼神的沟通，现场氛围的沟通，这些都是极其重要的。也就是说，“演讲不仅是个人行为，而且是社会行为。”以小组的形式进行培训就解决了演讲者在准备时只能朝空气抒发情感的尴尬，同时还可以锻炼演讲者在众人面前表现的胆量和素质。

在台下聆听的其他小组成员可以就台上的演讲者的演讲进行点评，这样显得更为客观。同时可以锻炼成员们的批判是聆听技巧。“聆听技巧同演讲技巧同等重要。在你的一生中，你会见到不计其数的公共信息传播方式：课堂授课、电视广告以及聊天室交流等。通过练习聆听，你将学会如何准确反应以及准确评估他人的公众演讲。”

在实践中我们发现，此项进程一定要主意时间的把握。因为定时演讲的目的就是要锻炼演讲者在规定时间内阐述自己的观点的能力。演讲时间超过规定时间的原因可能是准备内容过多，也可能是由于准备不充分而浪费了时间，时间到了还没有讲完。而演讲时间剩余过多则是因为语速过快；内容准备不充分；忘词，这也就是我们经常可以看到一些不成熟的演讲者站在台上翻白眼，做小动作，尴尬的苦想。

解决这些问题除了充分的准备，还有就是要进行大量的实战演练，让演讲变成一种习惯，培养演讲者对时间的把控能力。

实践中还有一个问题值得关注，演讲者的演讲内容是否扣题。我们发现一些演讲者很容易在演讲的过程中跑题，或者干脆一开始就误读了演讲题目。这需要加强锻炼演讲者对一个演讲题目中重要信息的敏锐度和理解。可以有新颖独到的观点想法，但不能过分偏激。

2.观看精彩演讲视频

在观看视频时，不仅仅要关注演讲者的语音，抑扬顿挫，更要留意演讲者的神态、姿态和精神面貌。他是如何与观众进行交流的，他是怎么抓住观众的注意力的，这些都是演讲中最基本的点，但却又是很难做到的。

反复的观看并能真正的将所所学运用到自己的演讲中来，摒弃羞涩，建立足够自信的内心，正视自己，更要直视观众。

3.关注时事并书写评论性文章

这一部分是承接初步阶段中“试写评论性文章”而来的。而在这一时期要从评论一些美文到社会时事，并且字数需要增加，文章的逻辑感也要更深一步加强。这些练习还在一定程度上增加了演讲者的知识储备量。

三、培训后期，进入高层次对抗练习

1.采用辩论赛形式

辩论赛的形式可以是两两辩论，也可以是多人辩论。这样既增加了培训的趣味性，同时也在激烈的脑力风暴中给予选手不一样的灵感。

但这项活动对选手的反应能力和英语水平要求相对较高，如果选手达不到举办辩论赛的程度最好不要采用这种形式。因为在这个过程中选手们并不能得到充分的锻炼。

2.对历年“外研社杯”演讲比赛的题目进行实战演练

书写演讲稿，选手们逐一进行演讲，最终评价出孰高孰低，创造紧张的比赛氛围，有助于选手们提前进入备战状态。经过一段时间的培训，站在演讲台的选手们基本上已经具备了一名真正的演讲者的风采，成熟自信，游刃有余。

3.学会思考听众们的需求

在与他人交流的时候，演讲者应考虑到听众们的需求并思考如何将这些需求放入到自己的演讲内容里。不是在一味的告诉听众你要讲的是什么，而是“了解听众渴望感觉、知道和体验的是什么，这样才能引起他们的思想转变。”③只有演讲内容与听众产生了相关性，听众才会变得积极，演讲的气氛才会活跃，你的演讲才可以向“成功”迈进。当然这是更高层次的要求，而这种要求又恰恰是奠定你的演讲是否能引起共鸣的关键。

“外研社杯”全国大学生英语演讲比赛成功的举办了很多年。但是选手们多以自己准备为主，这样的一次赛前培训，将有志于在比赛中取得好成绩的同学们聚集起来，就是从根本上建立起一种竞争的环境，互相学习，取长补短。将赛前准备变得系统，有章法，同时可以进行量化评估。对此次培训成果的最终检验还需通过演讲比赛，但这次的培训从某种程度上来说已经是一种创新。这种创新使我们具有了在这一培训领域的经验，对于以后再举办此项活动帮助很大。

You may often hear this when it comes to keeping a positive attitude towards your daily life, ‘‘change the changeable, and accept the unchangeable.” Of course, this is an easy way to avoid panic when meeting with difficult situations.However, I am going to share with you a totally different opinion about dealing with obstacles and having a successful life.That is, change the unchangeable, and you will when you believe.In our daily life, there are many things which we considered as the unchangeable.For example, you think you cannot remember all the English words.You think its impossible to be the number one in your class because many students are doing better than you.And also you do not believe that you can change the world by yourself.But now, I am telling you, all of these are not true.There is a chance that you can change the so-called unchangeable things.It’s not a hard as it looks like.All you need to do is to be confident, believing in yourself that you can do it.In this world, there are two kinds of animals that can climb to the top of the pyramid.One is the eagle, its wings can help it fly to the top of the pyramid easily.The other is the snail, no one believes the snail can do such unchangeable things.But the snail itself believes.Just like water constantly dripping wears holes in stone.Step by step, the confidence and persistence finally help the snail manage to arrive at the top of the pyramid.The unchangeable things, just like a wall that prevents us from seeing through the essence of life and exploring the colorful world.But confidence can give us courage to break that wall, and a strong will can finally get us there.When meeting with the unchangeable things next time, face it with confidence.Believing that you can do it under any circumstances.As long as we are confident enough to pursue our future dream with great passion and courage, we will make a difference!

在周三举办的演讲比赛中，有六位选手脱颖而出，进一步的展示自己的风采。

比赛主要分为三个环节，第一个环节是已备演讲，主题是University as I see it，每个选手围绕该主题阐述自己的感想，限时三分钟。紧接着就是即兴演讲，每个选手在比赛前从主持人手里抽选自己要演讲的问题，在做好充分的准备，即兴演讲时间为两分钟。最后是三分钟的才艺表演，所有的表演内容由选手自己所决定。

在此次比赛过程中，我们充分吸取了上次举办活动时的教训，所以一切都进行得有条不紊。评委们按照指定的位置就坐，选手按照抽签的顺序入场，主持人等各就各位，各司其职，观众们鸦雀无声，认真地享受比赛过程，整个活动圆满的完成。

但是在活动中也存在着一些漏洞，比如说有选手因为各种原因没能参加比赛，是一个非常大的遗憾。还有在比赛过程中，有少数的观众中途离场，对选手和整个比赛现场的气氛造成了不利的影响。

总之，活动已经告一段落了，在未来的日子里，诸如此类的活动还有很多，作为英语协会的一员，我们必须团结一致，互相帮助，充分发挥主观能动性，将节目办得最好。

贵州大学初赛通知

“外研社杯’全国英语演讲大赛”是外语教学与研究出版社联合教育部高等学校大学外语教学指导委员会和教育部高等学校英语专业教学指导分委员会主办的全国性英语演讲赛事。

大赛旨在以立意高远的主题、严谨规范的流程和丰富多样的形式，通过各地高校、大学外语教学研究会以及主办单位有组织、分层次的选拔，为全国大学生创造一个激励外语学习、展示综合能力、选拔优秀人才的平台；同时，比赛的举办将有力推动高校英语教学，创新教学内容，展现教学水平，促进教师发展。

参赛资格

全国具有高等学历教育招生资格的普通高等学校在校本、专科学生、研究生。35岁以下，中国国籍。在职研究生、曾获得往届“‘外研社杯’全国英语演讲大赛”、“‘外研社杯’全国英语辩论赛”出国奖项的选手不包括在内。

参赛方式

符合参赛资格的高校学生可直接向本班英语任课老师、本校外语院（系）或大学外语教学部咨询、报名和参加初赛。

第1阶段 海选

时间：2012 年10月16日下午2点-6点

内容：定题演讲，每位选手演讲时间为3分钟，题目为：

2013外研社杯全国英语演讲大赛视频观后感及笔记 这是一个大学里学院组织的比赛，拍摄设施和角度都有欠缺，但透过清晰度不是很高的镜头还是可以感受到参赛者的自信和热情。即便他们的演讲水平有上下之分，但又有着相同的，不容忽视的特点：勇敢，自信，沉着。关于勇敢，那位大四学长说，站到这里的人就是胜利者。我觉得是因为他们有勇气克服自己的紧张，突破自己，迈出别人不敢迈的一步。然后是自信，台下练了很久，主题的选择，语调的练习，节奏的把握，到了台上，能把这些都顾上的只有自信了。自信让整个演讲都有了值得你听下去的理由。最后是沉着，出现失误是预料不到但逃避不了的局面，有一位忘了稿，3秒钟的停顿后她继续了下去。临危不乱，沉着冷静很重要。勇敢，自信，沉着，除了这些，我想英语演讲还要做到思维开放，除了赛前的准备，生活中也要多关注一些热点问题，问到要有想法，抽到要有话说。还有就是发音的问题了，例如一个选手th的发音总错，口音重等等。当然，能勇敢的站上去就是胜利者了。

一、活动目的和意义：

自2002年以来，中央电视台与外语教学与研究出版社已连续举办9届“CCTV杯全国英语演讲大赛”，在国内外确立了权威地位，产生了广泛影响，成为全国外语教学界与高校大学生瞩目的高端赛事。为了进一步提高我校大学生学习英语的积极性与英语的实际应用能力，我系决定举办2011年“外研社杯”（原“CCTV杯”）全国英语演讲比赛东莞理工学院决赛。“外研社杯”英语演讲比赛是一个展现大学生独特风采与英语应用能力的舞台，相信每一位参赛者都会在这个舞台上收获属于自己的精彩！

（二）决赛： 1.比赛环节：

（1）定题演讲：每位选手首先进行有准备发言，题目为（待定）,演讲时间为2 分30秒，选手可自定小标题；

（2）即兴演讲：赛题保密，选手上场前10分钟抽题。即兴演讲时间

为1分30秒；

（3）辩论：经过第一和第二轮的比赛，选出6名分数最高的同学，进行一对一辩论。由抽签决定进行辩论的双方及辩题，分三组进行。三组辩题在比赛前几天给出，由选手自己准备有关辩题的材料。现场辩论时间为5分钟，首先每位选手各有30秒的时间陈述个人观点，之后自由辩论4分钟，由主持人控制进度。

四、比赛要求

1.内容要求：

主题鲜明，与小标题相符，内容清楚、结构清晰、中心突出，合理展开、阐释充分、证据相关、逻辑性强，内容生动、不枯燥，能吸引听众注意力。2.语言要求：

使用标准英国英语或美国英语。语言准确（发音清晰，音调、音

高合适，用词准确、相关），语言流利（注意连读、词重音、句重音、语调和节奏等）。3.技巧要求：

自信，有感情与气势；注意手势、眼神与身体语言；幽默感（不能是哑剧式的幽默或调侃）；适当使用修辞手段（比喻、类比等）。4.时间控制：

定题演讲在2分15秒时有举牌提示,2分30秒时有第一次铃声提示，在2分45秒时有第二次铃声提示，主持人叫停，选手必须停止演讲，不足2分15秒或超过2分45秒，扣1至5分。即兴演讲在1分15秒有举牌提示,1分30秒时有第一次铃声提示，在1分45秒时有第二次铃声提示，主持人叫停，选手必须停止演讲，不足1分15秒或超过1分45秒，扣1至5分。辩论时间为每组5分钟，每位选手个人陈述30秒时有铃声提示，并停止陈述；辩论环节在4分45秒时有举牌提示，在5分钟时有铃声提示，主持人叫停，选手必须停止辩论。辩论总时间不足4分45秒，扣1至5分。5.道具使用：

定题演讲和即兴演讲阶段不允许使用任何实物、图片等辅助道具，尤其不允许将演讲稿或提纲带上场，如携带以上物品将取消比赛资格。

6、辩论要求：

辩论观点要有理有据，论点清晰，表达流畅，用语得体、礼貌。语言表达：语言是否流畅、准确，并使用标准英国英语或美国英语 论证：论证的材料是否充实，内容是否丰富，能否从逻辑、理论事实

等多角度、多层次理解并做出有说服力的推理论证；

论驳：能否在对方攻击下为本方立场做出有力的辩护，能否及时抓住对方的要害问题予以有效攻击。

7、着装要求：

大方得体，严肃整洁，适合正式场合，建议不要穿运动服。
