These trees are like our parents. They devote their life to us的领悟;有大谈kindness之后If all of us are kind, our school will be better. If we are all kind, our country will be stronger. If we are all kind, the world will be more peaceful. Failure is the mother of success. Earthquake is terrible, which can destroy our buildings and can take away our lovers, but human being can’t be defeated. What we should do is to give them a hand when they are in trouble....

What did he/she talk about? What are their suggestions? What’s your opinion about it?If you were the character, what would you do?

I asked this question to my young students when teaching English this winter. What were their answers?

“I would watch television!” the first answer. “I would play with the computer!” the second one. “I would play with computer TOO.” The girl finished her sentence perfectly with a serious smile. Indeed how cute and innocent that smile was, but how seriously my heart was hurt. I was too frightened to listen to more answers like that.

Ten years ago, at their age, I had a different answer: I would spend the last day of my life gazing at the face of my dear grandmother until I inscribed every detail of it onto my mind.

When grandmother was getting old and weak, my family bought her a telephone so I could save time and the trouble of traveling to her home by making phone calls instead. Later we bought her a television so she could watch modern dramas by herself. Then grandma must have been, we assumed, very contented and happy.

But I never really knew how grandma felt. She silently passed away without a word one night. When I heard about her death, a chilling pain pierced my empty heart. The pain grew even sharper as I tried to remember in detail exactly how grandma looked and I failed completely! How could I remember? I had not visited her for ages—it seemed like a century! My memories of her dissolved into thin air and leaked away like water.

Even though I have a telephone, can she hear me now?

Even though I might be on television, can she see me now?

Even though I have modern telecommunications, can she still communicate with me now?

With all these “tele”s, I was powerless.

Don’t people just love the word of “tele”, which means far away. Indeed this is how modern technology has changed our world. But please don’t forget this other word with “tele”: telepathy: which refers to human beings’ inborn ability to connect to our loved ones. Our minds are supposed to read each other’s minds; our hearts are supposed to feel each other’s hearts — and fulfill these without any forms of tool!

But the moment I desperately struggled to remember grandmother’s face, the telepathy between her and me had shut down forever. With the help of modern technology, I killed our telepathy.

This shall never happen again! The “tele”s are great inventions. But “telepathy” gives them the warmth of a human face. Let’s harness the power of television to excite our kids to develop their telepathy with nature… so that they can read the secret language of flowers. Let’s make the telephone lines provoke us to preserve our telepathy with each other, so we can connect in a warm and feeling way. Let technology keep our “telepathy” ALIVE! We need to wake up and make this happen.

I told my grandma’s story to those young kids that day. They got very quiet. They asked me for a second chance to answer the question. They had come to a new understanding – that very moment they had made to me and to our future together, a dear promise.

i believe in our future honorable judges, fellow students: good afternoon!recently, ther is a heated debate in our society.the college students are the beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education at extraordinary places.but will we be able to face the challenge and support ourselves against all odds? will we be able to better the lives of others? will we be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of our country? the cynics say the college students are the dormitory, go shopping and bargain together, and take part time jobs to supplement our pocket money.the cynics say we care for nothing other than grades;and we neglect the need for character cultivation.but again, the cynics are wrong.we care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth.last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.as college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives.we all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country.i believe in all my fellow classmates.though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish.i believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take on our responsibilities.we are preparing to assume new responsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to make our world a better place.i believe in our future.

17 change the ingredients of your life

change the ingredients of your life if kindness is added to a strange you will have a friend;but if hostility is added, you will have an enemy.if love is added to a pile of red bricks you will have a home, but if hatred is add to those bricks , you will have an concentration camp.so my dear friend, if faith, hope, love, endurance are added to your life, you will find the confidence to conquer your limitation and embrace new challenges.and hopefully with my speech included, you will have a fantastic speech contest.

good morning, ladies and gentlemen.id like to share my teaching dream with you.but before that, i want to say something about the beginning of this dream.in march this year, three teachers from australia came to our school.during the meeting, we exchanged a lot about education.i found that though we have almost the same teaching philosophy, we have different routines.what impressed me most was that their schools end at 3:00 in the afternoon and have no night classes.i cant tell which kind of routine is better, but the sharp contrast made me think about a better education.the following is a dreamy school in my mind, in which there is no pressure but pleasure.in this school, the buildings are well designed, close to nature.in the morning, children can read while enjoying the beautiful sunrise.in the evening, they can exercise by the lake reflecting the amazing sunset.in the spring, they can go to the wild, lie on the lawn, and watch the kite flying in the blue sky.in the summer, they can go to the forest, live in a cabin, and listen to the rhythm of the rain....students are free but polite and they respect each other.they can leave at 4:00 every afternoon, or perhaps earlier.they have the freedom to organize time.they can go to the library, go to the lab, the computer rooms or the playground.theyre self-motivated and have a strong thirst for knowledge.and there are no frequent exams and rankings.students wont be forced to wear uniforms everyday, and there is no required hair style.everyday is so colorful that they are looking forward to the next day when going to bed at night, every teacher in this school can give a course as they like.there is no tedious rating, no scraps of quantitative management and no rigid standard.teachers can fully display their personality in class, and they feel very happy and content to teach.every morning, on thoughts of giving lessons, they are excited.after class, they are delighted , with smiles on their faces.some experts, scholars and masters are also visiting teachers in this school.yang zhenning

can give physics classes for a day.yi zhongtian opens lectures on chinese culture for a week.speaking of music, we can ask wang lihong to give music lectures, just as he did in oxford university.if necessary, we can also invite david beckham to speak something about the world cup...the principal of the school focuses on education rather than waste time in endless meetings and social activities.teachers wages are not high but enough to live comfortably.there are no other things to do except to teach.there are no paper requirements, no titles and no ranks because they dont need to be judged by those things.almost every teacher is a well-known scholar and master in a particular field.a language teacher may be a writer at the same time.a math teacher may try to overcome a world-class guess.a physics teacher can win invention awards and a music teacher may return from an international music competition again.in short, in this school, the principal is satisfied, the teachers are happy and the students are joyful.thats my dream.篇二

during his presidency, bill clinton seized important opportunities on issues from welfare to free trade.he was a tireless champion of peace in the middle east.he used american power in the balkans to confront aggression and halt ethnic cleansing.and in

all his actions and decisions, the american people sensed a deep empathy for the poor and the powerless.shortly before leaving office, president clinton said, “christ admonished us that our lives will be judged by how we do unto the least of our neighbors.” throughout his career, bill clinton has done his best to live up to that standard.and americans respect him for it.at every stage of his remarkable life, president clinton has made and kept countless friends, who share in the joy of this day.and three people in particular have the largest part in this remarkable story.one day more than 30 years ago, inside the yale law library, a fellow student walked over to bill clinton and said, “if youre going to keep staring at me, and im going to keep staring back, we ought to at least know each others name.mines hillary rodham.what is yours?”that was a good day for both of them, and the beginning of a partnership unique in american history.so today, we honor the former first lady of arkansas, the former first lady of america, the united states senator from new york, senator hillary rodham clinton.perhaps the clintons greatest achievement is their daughter, who moved into the white house as a young girl, and left as an accomplished young lady.its not easy to be a teenager in the white house, but its a lot easier when you have a loving mother and a loving

father that chelsea clinton had.this magnificent presidential library, and the american life it celebrates, would not have been possible without the love and sacrifice of a special lady.among his heroes, president clinton always includes his mother, virginia kelley, “a working woman and a widow.” virginia was there when her son took the oath of office, and we know that she would be incredibly proud of this day.the story that began in a little house on hervey street in hope, arkansas is the kind of story that inspires people from every background, all over america.in this great nation, it is always possible for a child to go as far as their talent and vision can take them.visitors to this place will be reminded of the great promise of our country, and the dreams that came true in the life of our 42nd president.the william j.clinton presidential library is a gift to the future by a man who always believed in the future.and today, we thank him for loving and serving america.篇三

ladies and gentlemen, this is joe biden, im filling in for president obama, while he addresses the nato summit in wales.when the president and i took office in january of XX, this nation was in the midst of the greatest economic crisis since the great depression.our economy had plummeted1 at a rate of 8% in a single

quarter-part of the fastest economic decline any time in the last half century.millions of families were falling underwater on their homes and threatened with foreclosure.the iconic american automobile2 industry was under siege.but yesterdays jobs report was another reminder3 of how far weve come.weve had 54 straight months of job creation.and thats the longest streak4 of uninterrupted job growth in the united states history.weve gone from losing 9 million jobs during the financial crisis to creating 10 million jobs.weve reduced the unemployment rate from 10% in october of XX to 6.1% today.and for the first time since the 1990s, american manufacturing is steadily5 adding jobs-over 700,000 since XX.and surveys of both american and foreign business leaders confirm that america once again is viewed as the best place in the world to build and invest.thats all good news.but an awful lot of middle class americans are still not feeling the effects of this recovery.since the year XX, gross domestic product-our gdp-has risen by 25%.and productivity in america is up by 30%.but middle class wages during that same time period have gone up by only fourteen cents.folks, its long past time to cut the middle class back into the

deal, so they can benefit from the economic growth they helped create.folks, there used to be a bargain in this country supported by democrats6 and republicans, business and labor7.the bargain was simple.if an employee contributed to the growth and profitability of the company, they got to share in the profits and the benefits as well.thats what built the middle class.its time to restore the bargain, to deal the middle class back in.because, folks, when the middle class does well, everybody does well-the wealthy get wealthier and the poor have a way up.you know, the middle class is not a number.its a value set.it means being able to own your home;raise your children in a safe neighborhood;send them to a good school where if they do well they can qualify to go to college and if they get accepted youd be able to find a way to be able to send them to college.and in the meantime, if your parents need help, being able to take care of them, and hope to put aside enough money so that your children will not have to take care of you.

中职教材基础模块1 Unit 5 Keeping Fit, 可建议学生就How to Keep Fit这一主题进行演讲;而Unit 10 Famous People, 则可选定A Famous People I like Best的主题, 这样既能确保选材的广泛性, 同时又把书本内容和演讲主题有机地结合起来, 一方面锻炼了演讲才能, 另一方面又达到巩固书本知识的目的。

例如, 我选用了“An unforgettable thing””Suggestions on doing sth.”

Jingle Bells, Little Stars, Spring is Where等英文儿歌, Take me to your heart, Two butterflies等流行歌曲。
