一、当前中职学校英语口语教学中存在的问题

1.学生的英语基础薄弱。近几年来, 中职招收的学生数量越来越多, 生源质量有所下降。大部分中职学生的英语基础较差, 缺乏口语训练, 英语表达能力差。许多学生的单词量缺乏, 发音不标准, 不熟悉英语的表达技巧。这就导致他们在英语口语学习方面缺乏自信, 不敢开口说英语, 最终造成恶性循环。

2.教学模式落后。目前, 大多数中职英语教师依然采用陈旧的教学模式, 在进行口语教学时, 往往是由教师讲解, 学生被动接受。这种方式不利于教学效果的提高, 也阻碍了学生自主学习能力的培养, 让他们觉得英语学习枯燥无味, 无法提起学习兴趣。但是, 英语口语教学的最重要部分就是学生的主动参与性, 只有亲口说英语, 才能够真正提高表达能力。因此, 进行口语教学时, 教师要重视学生的主体地位, 加强与学生的交流和互动。

3.缺乏英语口语练习情境。语言环境对于英语学习有着重要影响, 然而, 大多数的中职院校没有意识到语言环境的重要性, 课程安排也不够合理, 通常每周只安排两节或者三节的口语训练课程, 远远不能满足口语教学要求。教师在进行英语课堂教学时, 也没有创设相应的对话情境, 学生感受不到口语表达的乐趣, 当然不能取得良好的教学效果。

二、提高中职学校英语口语教学水平的策略

1.加强对学生基础英语知识的训练。大部分的中职学生英语基础知识比较薄弱, 词汇掌握情况较差, 口语方面缺乏训练。因此, 大多数学生都因为缺乏自信, 不敢张口说英语, 害怕因为发音不准、句子不连贯等问题受到同伴的嘲笑。还有一部分中职学生虽然想说英语, 却因为词汇量缺乏、基础知识不牢固等原因, 不能表达出自己的想法。因此, 大多数学生不敢开口、不会开口。

面对这种情况, 中职英语教师要对学生多加鼓励。要帮助学生克服自卑心理, 增强他们的自信心, 让他们端正对英语学习的态度。即使学生一开始进行口语表达时, 会出现很多错误, 也是一个很好的开端, 最重要的是多说多练。另外, 教师还要多多赞美学生, 当学生在口语表达能力上取得些许的进步时, 教师要适当给予鼓励和引导, 提高他们的自信心。

2.创新教学模式。在对基础知识点进行讲解的基础上, 教师还可以通过改变教学方式、开展课外活动增强学生的学习兴趣。教师可以利用多媒体设备, 采取有创造力的英语教学模式, 这样既能够激发学生的学习兴趣, 又能够提高口语教学的效果。传统的英语学习是比较乏味和枯燥的, 因此, 教师要转变陈旧的教学方式, 从学生的实际情况和心理特征出发, 开展适当的教学活动, 培养学生养成良好的口语表达习惯, 让他们喜欢说英语, 善于说英语, 提高英语的实际应用能力。

3.创造良好的口语学习环境。语言环境对于语言的掌握有着关键作用, 中职英语教师在进行课堂教学时, 最好全程使用英语授课, 与学生进行英语交流。就目前来说, 由于学生英语水平和能力的限制, 可能一开始无法对全英语授课的方式完全适应, 会出现听不懂教师意思, 不能进行及时回应的状况。但是, 教师要通过引导和讲解, 让学生渐渐的适应这种方式。当学生不能对教师的意思完全理解时, 可以放慢表达语速, 或者偶尔使用汉语进行引导和解释。当学生互相进行交流时, 也要使用英语表达, 并及时发现表达中出现的错误, 给予适当的引导。经过长时间的训练, 学生的英语表达水平就会有一定的提升。

4.使用先进的英语教学设备。一方面, 高等职业院校要增加对教学设备的投入力度, 对教学设备进行及时的购置和更新, 创造优质的教学条件。另一方面, 英语教师要熟练掌握多媒体教学设备的使用方法, 让教学设备发挥出应有的作用, 提高英语课堂教学效果。另外, 相关教育部门要加大对中职院校的监督和管理力度, 控制不合理的扩招行为, 确保学校的教学质量和教学效果。

一、利用晨读,养成读和背的习惯

英语是一个语言学科,读和背是基础,所以,一般各学校都为英语设晨读课,目的之一就是为学生创设一个学习英语的语言环境。如果你连晨读这30分钟的朗读时间都抹杀了,只是用来复习语言点或完成教师布置的书面作业,即使你的卷面分数再高你学到的也只是“哑巴”英语,没有任何语言沟通的能力。更何况,学习语言是有其自身规律的,只单纯强调语言知识而忽略了语言运用,就是舍本逐末。所以,我建议那些晨读时总是沉默不语的同学尽快地把嘴巴张开,尽可能大声地朗读。只有通过读和背才能纠正自己的语音、语调,形成自己的语流、语感,在大脑中储存足够的语言信息,也才能为以后的写作打下良好的基础,提高听说读写的综合能力。

二、在课堂上尽展自己的才华,切不可因噎废食

四、及时总结,充分发挥错题本的作用

错题本的作用是让同学们学会在错误中总结规律性的知识,在以后的学习中不犯类似的错误。总结是每一个高中生必须具备的学习素质。因此,我建议每一个高一新生都要把错题本重视起来。用一个正规的本子,将自己做错的题整理在上面,分析好自己犯错的原因,总结出类似题的应答规律。另外,我认为对于英语学科而言,错题本还可以作为考前复习的重要资料。所以,错题本的作用不容忽视。

1. 教材的选用及编写应以实用为原则。

目前, 很多中职学校的酒店专业在教材的选材、内容、形式上与目前涉外酒店的发展形势还有一段距离。综合起来有以下几个方面值得商榷:所用教材内容比较滞后, 时代性不够强;形式比较单一, 实用性不强;在教与学的过程中, 学生感到学的东西用不上, 要用的东西又没学到。因此, 在教材的选用中, 不应一味照搬普通高校使用的专业英语教材, 要根据具体情况有所侧重, 选择内容新、专业岗位针对性强, 难度适中的教材, 对教材内容进行大胆地取舍, 注意收集与专业岗位相关且内容具体的真实教材, 必要时需自编教材。

2. 改进教学法, 培养专业交际意识和专业交际能力。

中职的专业英语教学不应是简单的专业英语阅读, 而应强调实际应用, 即专业交际意识和专业交际能力的培养。因此, 教学要以学生为中心, 优化教学方法和教学手段, 提高学生的参与度, 把传授语言知识这个观念转变为教会学生使用语言这个工具。目前, 国际饭店英语培训通用的方法是“四步法”:“告诉你如何做” (Tell you) 、“示范做一遍” (Showyou) 、跟我做 (Followm e) 、“检查纠正” (Check you) 。因此, 教师应重视探索和运用英语培训的新技术, 如:应用多媒体技术、计算机软件、网络等, 此外, 酒店英语教学应从单纯的知识讲授型课程向互动型、讨论型、情境型、模拟型多种形式结合的方向发展。多样化英语教学方式符合在职性、真实性的特点, 能调动英语教学对象的参与性, 发挥他们的积极性、自主性和创造性, 也能使学习成为一种愉快的经历。在此, 笔者提供两种经实践证明效果较好的教学方法:

中职学校学生学习酒店英语主要是为了培养职业技能, 运用英语与外国客人进行沟通交流。在教学过程中, 教师要运用多种方法, 、恰当地引导学生融入情境, 激发学生的兴趣, 使他们自觉、自愿地去学、去说。例如, 在教授R eception章节时, 教师可以设置几个问题情境让学生思考, 以拓展学生思维, 虽然专业英语课和服务实训课是独立的两门课, 但不妨可以尝试在实训课堂中加进了服务英语的训练, 即让学生反复进行使用英语为顾客服务的各个场面的练习, 直到每一位学生能配合着服务动作, 英语琅琅上口为止。这样的动手又动口的活泼形式使学生感受到了学习的快乐, 又很接近岗位实况, 这就大大地增强了学生去大酒店应聘的自信。

总之, 为适应社会的发展以及满足新世纪酒店业对高素质人才的要求, 职业教育不应只拘泥于专业理论培训, 而更应该注意对其专业外语技能的培养, 从而提升学生就业竞争能力。
